What We Offer

Educational Workshops
Choose from a wide variety of topics appropriate for the newest to the most seasoned professionals including research and technology, annual fund, major and planned gifts, corporate and foundation fundraising, and marketing and communications. There is something for development professionals, executive directors, board members and anyone interested in the advancement of philanthropy.

Networking, Networking, Networking!

Mentoring
Take advantage of a one-to-one mentoring session with an experienced development professional. Topics for discussion may include: major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, sponsorships, special events, grantsmanship, strategic planning, and working with your board. You rni pre-register to participate in this program. All requests to meet with a mentor must be received no later than November 9th.

Career Development
Newcomers to the profession, as well as seasoned veterans, may take advantage of one—on-one counseling session with a career development consultant, but you must pre-register no later than November 9th. Career Counselors will be available throughout the day.

Exhibits
Visit more than 50 booths, featuring every product or service a fundraiser needs. See what’s new, what’s hot and what can enhance your efforts and your bottom line.

Scholarships
Scholarships for conference tuition are available from AFPLI on an as-needed basis. Deadline for submitting completed appliction is October 26th. For information, call Joan Connor, 631/249-5008.

Hotel Reservations
The LI Marriott, Uniondale has made available special room rates for
Philanthropy Day attendees: $189 for single or double accommodations.
A limited number of rooms are available, and reservations must be made
directly with the hotel at 800/228-9290 no later than October 20th 2008.
